Eligibility for Admission to the B.Ed. course
Candidates with at least 50% marks either in bachelor’s degree in Science/Social Sciences/ Humanities/Commerce/Home Science/ B.B.A./B.C.A., Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification declared equivalent thereto are eligible for admission to the programme.
The reservation & relaxation for S.C./S.T. O.B.C./P.W.D. and other categories shall be as per rules of central / state government whichever is applicable.
Admission Procedure for B.Ed.
Admission to the B.Ed., course shall be made strictly according to rules/guidelines framed by Panjab University/ Punjab Government. There are total of 200 seats for B.Ed Course in this College. Out of the total 26 seats will be filled under Management Quota as per the Punjab Govt./ Panjab University norms. The Management Quota Seats will be filled according to Punjab Govt, directions. Students willing to get admission to Management Quota seats will have to apply to the College directly.
The admission to the course shall be open to all the eligible candidates. 85% seats will be reserved for the candidates from within the state and 15% will be open to candidates of other states on all India Basis.
Admission is based on passing in Entrances test .
Admission Procedure for D.El.Ed.
D.El.Ed.is a 2-year Diploma course in Elementary Education for aspiring teachers. Punjab D.El.Ed Admission is conducted by the Director, State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT)
• A candidate should have passed graduation with minimum 50% marks on case of general category and 45% marks in case of SC/ST /OBC/BC and physically handicapped candidates from recognised institution. No candidate with reappear in qualifying examination shall be eligible for admission.
• Candidate must have passed Punjabi upto 10th standard.
• To ensure high quality standards , any candidate who have not passed in the subjects -Science ,English ,Punjabi, Social Studies ,Mathematics ,Hindi in class 10th examination shall not be eligible for admission to D.El.Ed. course.
Selection Criteria
Selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of merit in the entrance test .The minimum marks to qualify this entrance test will be 50% in aggregate and 5% relaxation to qualify entrance test will be given to the reserved categories as per guidelines of the Government of Punjab.
As per the policy, 60% of the seats in the private institutions will be filled based on the joint merit through centralized online counselling, and the remaining 40% of seats of management quota will be filled by the concerned institution that is subjected to fulfil the minimum academic qualification.
