Admission Committee

The Admission Process is a matter of significance as it is vital to the reputation of the college. Selecting the right students and giving equal opportunities to all without any discrimination are the two main objectives of this committee. A separate committee is formed at the end of every academic year to look after the admission of the students for the subsequent year. The Committee guides and counsels the students to choose the right course of study. Details about the members of the Admission Committee and its functions are given below.

Functions of the Admission Committee:-

• To receive applications and scrutinize through the admission committee to confirm the eligibility.
• To offer counselling on the contents of the programmes offered by the College.
• To give priority to merit and maintain reservations as directed by the University.
• To decide the concessions as stipulated by the Management and the University.

Admission Procedure for B.Ed.

Course Duration- 2 Yr

• Admission to the B.Ed, course shall be made strictly according to rules/guidelines framed by Panjab University/ Punjab Government.
• There are a total of 200 seats for B.Ed Course 1st Year of Panjab University Chandigarh in this College.
• Out of the total 26 seats will be filled under Management Quota as per the Punjab Govt./ Panjab University norms.
• The Management Quota Seats will be filled according to Punjab Govt, directions. Students willing to get admission to Management Quota seats will have to apply to the College directly.

Eligibility for Admission to the B.Ed course

Candidates with at least 50% marks either in bachelor’s degree and/or in the Master’s degree in Science/Social Sciences/ Humanities/Commerce/Home Science/ B.B.A./B.C.A., Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification declared equivalent thereto are eligible for admission to the programme.

The admission to the course shall be open to all the eligible candidates. 85% seats will be reserved for the candidates from within the state and 15% will be open to candidates of other states on all India Basis.

Schedule Caste / Backward Class Students

The reservation & relaxation for S.C./S.T. O.B.C./P.W.D. and other categories shall be as per rules of central / state government whichever is applicable.

A student belonging to Schedule Caste or Backward Class will be required to attach with his/her admission form a certificate of his/her being so from a Magistrate, Member of Parliament, M.L.A. Pb., M.C. or Gazetted Officer with the seal of his court or the stamp of his office.

Students Migrating from Universities in Punjab

The students who have passed the examination of the University other than Panjab University, Chandigarh would be required to produce ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATE at the time of admission in this college. For this purpose, they should apply beforehand to the University / Board on the prescribed application form along with the following documents:

• The detailed marks certificate of lower examination passed/issued by the University.
• The Degree / Certificate in Original issued by the University.
• Transfer Certificate from the previous institution.
• The Migration Certificate issued by the previous University.
• Any other document/Certificate/information which is required for obtaining certificate.

The students Migrating from Guru Nanak Dev University / Punjabi University are required to produce following original documents at the time of admission.

• The Degree / Certificate and the Detailed Marks Card of the lower examination passed by them.
• The Migration Certificate issued by the University from which they are migrating.
